We spend most of our days in a habit loop. It is not something I came up with but researchers who study habits. It means that we spend most of our time in an autopilot mode, repeating our acts. We don't really think about how we get to work, or how to put our clothes on.
When we are checked out and we are on autopilot, any behavior pattern that we repeat can take over. And guess what? These behavior patterns are thinking patterns. Self-doubt, worry, overthinking, fear those are all thinking patterns, and as well they are all habits. So knowing all this, it means that you are not a worrier, you just have a habit of worry, and that is different.
I have a habit of thinking, thinking too much. All the time, trying to figure out stuff, trying to come up with different workouts, or finding a way to improve myself, and my business. This is a habit of mine. It wasn't always like this and now I have days when I just want silence my thoughts. Not easy, because it became a habit of mine. And it's always try to break a habit.
Now, just as we have thinking habits, we have behavior habits. Like smoking with your morning coffee, eating something sweet after each main meal etc.
Just as you are not a worrier, you are not a lazy person! You have a habit being lazy.
Good news, that all these patterns, habits can be changed and interrupted.
Do you want to change the way you look? Do you want to change the way you spend your free time? Do you want to stop eating too much chocolate but don't know how to do it?

When You feel yourself hesitate before doing something that you know you should do, count 5-4-3-2-1 GO, move towards your action.
You decide to wake up early the next day, go to the gym before work, but then in the morning the alarm goes off and you just don't feel like getting up. It's too early, and you start thinking, do I need this? Do I want to go to the gym?
STOP THINKING! Try again! Your alarm goes off, you start 5-4-3-2-1 GO! That's it! You wake up, go to the gym, train 50 mins, have a shower, have a healthy breakfast and you broke your habit loop! You will feel fantastic that day! Okay, it doesn't mean it will be easier the next time, but you started to build a new habit.
The countdown will focus your mind on your goal, commitment and distract you from the worries, thoughts and excuses.
You know you should go to the gym but you feel too tired. Just count from 5 to 1, grab your gym bag and GO!
You know you shouldn't eat that chocolate, so before you would, count from 5 to 1 and just remember what your goals are.
YOU ARE IN CONTROL!
